Cowboy Birthday Party - More Ideas

Ok - so you might remember last fall when I did a post on Cowboy Birthday Party Ideas. I thought I 'd offer up another version of this popular country-style party idea. How about a "hoe-down"? Or a "down on the farm" party? Both could easily utilize our Cowboy Party Pack as the foundation.

With the invites, thank-yous, favors, cupcake decor and such out of the way, you are free and clear to focus on the party planning. For a hoe-down, how about square dancing as a fun activity for the kids. Check out this site for simple kid-friendly instructions. Or, if you are bit square dance-challenged (like me), use a video like this as your guide. Is there anything cuter than kids square dancing? I mean, really?!?!

If you are wanting more of a "farm party" theme, how about planting seeds as an activity? Each child could then have a treasure to take home and water. Plant them in clear cups and the kiddos can watch the process below the soil also. Beans are great for this type of thing. They sprout quickly and offer fruit as a reward for the child's efforts. Here is a great guide.
Seating for your pint sized guests can be super easy and fun when you pick up some hay bales and throw them around the table. How "country" is that?!?! Leave it to Country Living to offer so many great ideas for outdoor party decorations. They never fail me.

If you find that the kids in your neck of the woods aren't too fond of chili, then how about Chili Mac as a great kid-friendly alternative? One pot cooking always makes for good party food.

There are just so many good ideas out there for cowboy, country and farm-related party themes. Your options are truly endless. Hopefully this helps a bit with your planning.
YeeeeeeeeHaw!

Thanks, Lissa! I was inspired by one of my favorite treats when I was a kid...chili mac from Steak-n-Shake. We did not eat out often so that was always a HUGE treat for me and my sisters!
