The Valentine Tree

Ahhhhh...my son! We are cut from the same cloth! In his search to celebrate anything possible, he asked if he could leave the little Christmas tree we put in his room up all year. (Yes! I put a decorated tree in almost every room of our home.) He had the brilliant idea of making decorations for it throughout the year to celebrate every single holiday. I'll be updating you all throughout the year with our progress on that front. Let me introduce you to our first endeavor - the Valentine tree.

I made the pom-poms using these Clover pom-pom makers. You can get them here. I purchased cheap (good quality is not necessary for this project) light pink, dark pink and red yarn and got my pom on. Super easy!

What will crafty tree-goodness will St. Patty's bring for us? You'll have to wait and see...

This is such a great idea! I'm also kind of a pom-pom addict, so I really love the way this came out.

I have often been tempted to keep a tree up for the entire year and do just what you are doing! I look forward to following you on this journey! How fun!

Thanks, Christine! If I could get away with it, I'd just change the pom-pom colors for every holiday throughout the year. I love them that much! My son (and our readers) may be looking for a bit more variety, though. :)

Yes - I have longed to have a tree up all year as well. My son's request gives me a convenient excuse. Stay tuned...our St. Patty's tree project is a good one!

We do that too - only it's a daughter in this case that wants a tree year-round! Last year I just decorated for the 4 seasons, this year we did our first ever Valentines tree! So fun to find someone else that does this!
BTW - LOVE your pom pom ornaments!!!

I knew there had to be other like-minded people out there on the "year-round" tree front! I'd love to see pics of yours! Have fun!

I have always thought of putting a little tree in the rooms of my kids, but never thought of keeping it up all year---how fun, I love it! Thanks for linking it up. :-)
