So what’s a host to do? Well, I’m guessing there is at least one guest at your party that has a camera in their phone. Sure the photos aren’t as good that way, but it just adds to the charm! Go with the old school photobooth look and use photostrips!
Shutterfly has a service called Wink where you can upload any photos and print on cute photostrips! They will even email the images to your guests for them to order copies. It uses photos from anywhere that you upload through their system.
Or if the designated photographer has an iPhone, make sure they download Incredibooth. This cool app takes the photos in photostrip form, for you! You can email them and send them to facebook. I personally use this app often for silly snapshots in everyday settings. Here’s my son, the ham, to model ideas for you.
So what to do with these fun photostrips? If you have a nice printer at home, print them out while the fun is happening (got this great idea from Ana of Craftification from that podcast I mentioned). Let your guests take them home with them just like they were in a real photobooth!
If that isn’t an option, you can have Shutterfly ship you the strips after the event or you can upload Incredibooth images (just email them to yourself first) to your favorite photo printing service and have them printed. (Tip – if you have a photo editing program, insert two strips onto one 4x6 image so you can save a little on printing!). Cut them at home and then send them with your thank you cards. Such a cute memento for them to enjoy!
Any way you go about it, silly photos are a fun way to document your event and have fun in the process. They don’t have to be fancy or professional pics to be a perfect addition to your festivities.
By the way, if you want to use some other fun photo apps on your smart phone to create your images, then make sure to check out Ana’s awesome roundup of her favorite smartphone apps here!
We love the idea of using some of the props we featured previously with this photostrip format. If you do too, make sure to share your pics. We’d LOVE to see them!

Great ideas! I'm thinking of doing my first photo booth at a 40th birthday party next month.
