Summer Entertaining: 4th of July Party Decor

Happy July!!!! And welcome to July's theme - Summer Entertaining! We have so many fun ideas to share with you this month. Each Friday we will feature a different type of summer party.  Since the 4th of July is right around the corner, we thought we'd kick it off with a patriotic party!

I whipped up a last minute but fun piece of décor for my door, since I didn’t have a chance to make those
cute patriotic wreaths

I used my Cricut to cut a small “USA” sign and stars of different sizes from various red white and blue patterned papers (although you could do the same with some paper punches).  I layered some of the stars (2 to 3 layers) to have some fun contrast.

I didn’t have time to sew them in a cute garland like my inspiration from Madigan Made (I think I mentioned before that sewing machine is next to my son’s room and this was a naptime project). So I took out my red and white baker’s twine (thanks, Kate!) and strung it through some holes I punched in the stars. I just made sure to double knot it at the holes so they wouldn’t just fall off the twine.

Then I tied three lengths of these stars to holes I cute in the bottom of my “USA” sign. I used some more twine to create a hanger at the top of the sign, backed the openings in patterned paper to match the stars and a couple contrasting cardstock mat papers so it wouldn’t bend, then hung it from my front door.

Super easy and super quick - just how I like my last-minute projects!! This is an easy way to greet your guests coming over for your 4th of July bash. Luckily
my yarn wreath still works too!

5. Make this GORGEOUS cake stand from the House of Whimsy (found via Scissors & Spatulas). You know we love a cute cake stand!
6. Fill an apothecary jar with dried beans like this festive one from Makoodle!
