Having some last minute guests over? Hors d’oeuvres don’t have to be complicated to be delicious and elegant. Check out this simple platter that G made for us on our “DSSP Conference” last spring.
She purchased some salami and cheese in different varieties. After laying out slices of each, she drizzled balsamic glaze (my new favorite condiment) over the top. The glaze is a pretty and sweet addition to the saltiness of the salami and cheese. Takes no time at all, but looks and tastes delicious!
By the way, many grocery stores including Whole Foods often have bins of smaller servings of cheese to choose from. These can be less expensive than buying a larger package, particularly if you are trying a new cheese and aren’t sure if you will like it or have a small guest list!
