Guinness Goodies

I’ve never been one to down an entire Guinness, but I am astounded by its versatility considering it’s strong flavor.  Of course the almost coffee or chocolate (I can’t quite figure out which) undertone might be why I’m an admirer. It is a unique ingredient that can be used in virtually any course in a meal.

And what better week to enjoy a full Guinness inspired meal than this one!  I’m talking multiple course meal here, people!  What, you don’t think that is possible?  Read on and enjoy!!

1. Guinness and Cheddar Cheese Spread from the Galley Gourmet.
2. Homemade Guinness Mustard from Kiss My Spatula. Spread it on pretzels, this Guinness bread or make a mustard vinaigrette for your salad!
3. Irish Cheddar and Stout Fondue from Bon Appetit

4. Guinness and Onion Soup with Irish Cheddar Crouton from Michael Chiarello of Food Network.
5. Mussels in Guinness by Jamie Oliver

7. Beef and Guinness Pie from Epicurious.
8. Guinness Beef Boxty with Gorgonzola Cream Sauce from Clarkitect at Tasty Kitchen.
9. Steak, Guinness and Cheese Pie with Puff Pastry Lid from Jamie Oliver

10. Guinness Chocolate Pudding from sprinkle bakes.
11. Guinness Chocolate Bread Pudding with Dark Sauce and Vanilla Bean and Brown Sugar Ice Cream from Okie Dokie Artichokie.
12. Chocolate Stout Baked Donuts by Bakers Royale.

And don’t forget the cupcakes from this post!

Believe me now?  I’m thinking this justifies buying a 6 pack or two.  I’d love to hear if you are a Guinness fan and if you’ve ever used it in the kitchen!

Heather-You know me and even though I don’t drink, Jeff certainly does and he loves Guinness. Last year I made the Beef and Guinness pie from Epicurious and it was fantastic. The stout adds such a rich flavor. Now I want to try every single recipe you listed. Calling Jeff now to pick up some more Guinness for culinary experiments. Thanks!
